About Me

Art has shaped my life. It has stimulated my creativity and how I look at the world and has helped me know what I want to learn. I imagine ways to shape the world around me and structure different ways to look at the world. From these ways, I am looking for something that works with my concept of entertainment and imagination. Therefore, I am interested in entering Game Development: Game Design or Game Programming, which can help me learn how to explore my potential.
In childhood, I had a very active imagination and enjoyed creating different types of characters and realms that I pictured in my mind. This has developed as I have grown older and I have grown accustomed to detailing the pictures in my mind into words and have become capable of describing what I can see in my mind through storytelling.
As time drew close for me to attend high school, I applied to enter the Bergen County Technical High School, a highly selective school. I was one of one hundred and fifty accepted from eight hundred applicants. When I was in high school, I was accepted into the Commercial Art and Graphic Design program, another competitive arena. I learned a wide variety of programs, specifically Adobe, which includes Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver. Most of the class work was done on Adobe Illustrator, through which I gained a vast amount of experience.
Now in college, I wish to explore my talents in a way that differs from the standard perceptions of art. With regard to the CAT major, I am looking to join Game Development and learn about how I can incorporate my interest in games as a career path. I have already started taking classes for the major. In the Fall 2010 Semester, I completed two of the required courses for the major: CAT 108 and CAT 110, and I received a final grade of A in both and received High Honors for the semester. Currently, I am enrolled in and enjoying CAT 112 and CAT 209.
Games have always played a role in my life; ever since I was young I loved playing board games and video games. I have always enjoyed the inventive atmosphere that games bring; they allow players to create and follow stories, characters, worlds, and mechanics. This creativity has played a large influence on my own innovative and imaginative aspects, which further drives my interests in the field. Games offer people enjoyment and often stimulate logical thinking. The field of Game Development has great growth potential. A relatively new career path, it requires logic as well as good communication skills and imagination. Therefore, I am highly interested in learning how to create games myself. I am confident that the major I am applying for will be able to help me learn how to make such games and will raise my creative abilities to a whole new level.
